A renowned artist has turned heads in the borough after he transformed a decaying tree into an owl sculpture as part on an environmental art project.

Paul Sivell swooped in on the Norway maple stump in Crane Park and used chainsaws and chisels to create a striking sculpture.

Councillor Pamela Fleming, cabinet member for environment, said: "It will be a privilege to have Paul Sivell’s stunning natural artwork in a Richmond park.

"His work brightens up parks across the country and I know residents and park users will be thrilled by the end result."
