A man was taken to hospital after he fell from a tree in Radnor Gardens yesterday evening.

Onlookers watched as the London’s Air Ambulance landed in the gardens in Twickenham at about 5.30pm on July 14, after the man, in his 40s, fell while climbing the tree.

Paramedics said the man may have been inebriated and climbed the large tree in front of his children, who were in their late teens, but lost his footing and fell.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) and police were also on the scene and the man was taken to St Mary’s Hospital.

An LAS spokesman said: “We were called at 5.32pm to Radnor Gardens to reports of a man who had fallen from a tree.

“We sent two single responders in cars and one ambulance crew.

“London Air Ambulance also attended.

“Staff treated one patient, a man reported to be in his 40s, and he had injuries to his wrist.

“He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital in an ambulance, escorted by a doctor from the air ambulance.”
