Rumours a Giraffe will be released into Richmond Park have been quashed.

Whispering tongues in Richmond said the animal was due to be released on to the 2,500-acre royal park on July 4.

The giraffe was rumoured to come from London Zoo.

The Royal Parks said there were no plans to release a giraffe into the park.
