A 15-year-old appeared in court charged with the murder of Jamil Palmer, from Hampton.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is charged with stabbing the 18-year-old Kingston College student to death near Evans Grove in Feltham on Tuesday, May 6.

The boy spoke only to confirm his name and address when he appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, May 15.

He will remain in custody until his next appearance at the Old Bailey for a bail hearing and preliminary hearing on Monday, May 19.

Magistrate Jeremy Lister said: “There is nothing more that this court can do - we do not have the powers.

“You will appear at the Central Criminal Court on Monday, May 19, for a bail hearing and preliminary hearing on the same day.

“Until then you will remain in custody because of the nature of this charge this court cannot grant you bail.”

The defendant, from Wembley, hugged and kissed two females who were sitting in court before he left.

Police continue to appeal for any witnesses, or anyone with information, to call the incident room on 020 8785 8099 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
