A Richmond College staff member took part in World Book Night by giving away free copies of the Nora Roberts novel Black Hills.
Helen Berry, support for learning manager at the college, successfully applied to join 20,000 other people across the UK and Ireland as a book giver, and donated her copies of the novel to her local library on April 24.
She said: “This is the third year that I have been a book giver and in previous years I have given the books away myself on the night.
“Reading is very important to me on both a personal and professional level and I support any campaign that promotes reading and the enjoyment of literature.”
World Book Night is an annual celebration of reading and books.
