A record-breaking 81 Waldegrave students secured gold Mayor’s Award certificates, presented to them by mayor of Richmond Councillor Meena Bond.
The Mayor’s Award recognises the importance of being an active citizen and making a contribution to society.
There are three levels of award - bronze, silver and gold - depending on how many elements pupils complete.
Headteacher Philippa Nunn said: “As a school we are committed to developing the pupils’ awareness of their future role as active citizens and we are delighted that so many of our pupils have chosen to go for gold in the Mayor’s Awards.
“We are also looking forward to extending our extra-curricular activities with the students of the Waldegrave Sixth Form, which opens in September this year.”
