The climate change minister popped into Kew this week with his pet pooch to discuss the Government’s energy policies and answer questions from residents.
MP Greg Barker, who visited Kew on Monday, April 28, with his dog, Otto, tucked under his arm, was keen to highlight the advances made in renewable energy technology, particularly for solar and tidal energy.
He said by 2030 tidal or wave energy could generate about 10 times the energy produced by a nuclear power plant.
MP for Richmond Park Zac Goldsmith said: “Greg has been an extraordinary force for good in Government, responsible more than anyone else for the Green Investment Bank, and for ensuring the Government has kept its promises in relation to renewable energy.”
