Cyclists: The campaign will raise money and awareness

First published in News by

A late night cycle ride through Richmond Park marked the launch of the Join Our Journey campaign to raise awareness and mobilise support for street children.

Members of Twickenham charity StreetInvest and staff from Twickenham’s local cycle shop, Moore’s Cycles, led a group of riders through the park on Saturday, April 12, to raise money through sponsorship to support the campaign.

Join Our Journey aims to encourage local businesses and individuals to organise rides of their own on behalf of StreetInvest, a charity that supports the needs of street children, including access to adult mentors, offer protection, improve access to healthcare and education and provide ties to their community.

Ben Chapman, manager of Moore’s Cycles, said: “It’s a good cause and the idea is really simple. Just get on your bike and cycle as far or as fast as you can – and ask the non-cyclists to sponsor you for a couple of quid each mile."
