Drivers travelling through Hampton Wick from Kingston will be diverted after part of the High Street has been shut off.

A water leak from a pipe has meant Thames Water closed Hampton Wick High Street between the junction of Hampton Court Road and Lower Teddington Road at noon today, March 25.

A diversion will send traffic down Church Grove and return into Upper Teddington Road.

Thames Water is on site and needs to dig up the road, repair the pipe and tarmac the road, before vehicles are allowed to travel through again.

The road is expected to re-open in time for Wednesday’s evening rush hour.

A Thames Water spokesman said: “We’ve had to close one lane on the High Street while we investigate a leak on one of our water pipes.

“We’re really sorry to anyone affected by the partial road closure but this is a must-do job and we’ll do our best to repair the pipe and get the road fully opened tomorrow.”
