Eight semi-mature pin oak trees are being planted along Twickenham embankment as part of its regeneration.
The improvements to the western side of the embankment have included resurfacing, new street furniture, new trees and planting as well as improved lighting.
Councillor Pamela Fleming said: “This is an historic moment at Twickenham Riverside.
“For years this site was unattractive to residents and visitors but its transformation into a beautiful riverside setting is nearing completion.”
