A talented schoolboy was given a trophy for completing a mind-bending code-breaking challenge.
Wayland Lo, a year 4 student at Tower House School in East Sheen, was awarded the trophy by code book author Dr Simon Singh after he triumphed in a national cipher challenge.
The school invited Dr Singh to an assembly on Monday, March 3, to personally congratulate the boy genius.
Maths teacher Simona Tudoran said: “What an amazing achievement to be recognised by one of the most famous people in the field of code breaking and mathematics in the UK - and what an inspirational assembly.
“We are hoping a lot more boys will be inspired by Wayland’s success, by his perseverance and determination and take part in many maths challenges.”
