Two people were arrested after a police chase near Barnes Bridge yesterday, after four people were reported hiding in a garden.

Police were called to Elm Bank Gardens at 7.36pm to reports of four men acting suspiciously and hiding in somebody’s back garden.

Two people were detained for going equipped, while the other two fled police.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said today: “Enquiries continue to apprehend these people.

“Another person was arrested in relation to this matter this morning.”

A set of bolt croppers were recovered from the initial scene.

British Transport Police were asked to assist the Met.

Last night on Twitter, MPS Helicopters said: “2005 - Searching railway lines in Barnes @MPSRichmond for various offenders, two located by ground units.”
