An Orleans Park pupil has made it through to the category finals of BBC Young Musician competition.
Trumpeter William Thomas will participate in the brass category final on March 7 at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff.
A BBC film crew visited William Thomas at school last week.
They will use footage of him at Orleans Park for a future televised edition of BBC Young Musician 2014.
William said: “I was very excited but also rather worried about being filmed by the BBC.
“But once the film crew arrived I relaxed and had a great time! I really enjoyed being filmed at Orleans Park in various school activities along with my friends.”
Each category winner will receive a place in the semi-final, which is held at the same venue on March 9.
Three of the semi-finalists will then be selected to go through to the BBC Young Musician 2014 final, which takes place on May 18 at Usher Hall in Edinburgh.
