Business Secretary Vince Cable will be guest of honour at a Richmond Chamber of Commerce event to assess business access to finance.

The chamber addressed the issue at events with the Chancellor George Osborne and MPs Zac Goldsmith and Vince Cable two years ago.

The event will be chaired by Derek Taylor, former IFA head of forex for HSBC, and there will be a question and answer session.

Twickenham MOP Vince Cable will also attend.

He said: “I look forward to hearing the views of local businesses across the borough of Richmond.”

Other members on the panel will be Kate Sharp, CEO of ABFA, Simon Dixon, CEO of Bank to the Future, Tim Boag, MD of Structured Finance CIB RBS, and Michael Patton, co-founder of Oakfield Capital Partners LLP.

Richmond Park MP Zac Goldsmith said: “This is a great opportunity provided by the chamber for local start-ups to gain valuable information and advice from business experts and successful SMEs.”

The City Meets Richmond business event will be sponsored by ABFA and NatWest and will be held at RFU, Whitton Road, Twickenham, from 7pm to 9pm on Friday, January 24.
