A desperate family cancelled their Christmas plans to search for their dog who went missing on Christmas Eve.

Colin Dowding said his family is devastated after their pet Labrador Lily, 4, disappeared while out for a walk in Crane Park, Twickenham, on Christmas Eve at about 3pm.

The family searched the park in the rain until 10pm on Christmas Eve and all day on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Mr Dowding, 54, from Sunbury, said: “We are absolutely devastated. We cancelled our Christmas plans to look for her.

“We were walking her in Crane Park and literally lost sight of her for about two minutes and turned around and she was gone.

“We have been searching every day since hoping to find her but have had no luck.”

Lily is a black Labrador and was wearing a red collar with the name, address and telephone number of the owner.

Anyone who has seen Lily is asked to contact RSPCA Richmond on 020 88921216.
