The routes provisional routes the 2014 Prudential Ride London-Surrey cycling events have been decided by Surrey County Council.

The cabinet agreed next year’s routes after asking local parish, borough, district and county councillors for feedback.

It was also decided in principle to hold the RideLondon-Surrey 100 and Classic events for another four years.

The confirmed routes will be officially unveiled early next year once any final changes have been made.

The county council also approved its cycling strategy, calling on the government for a law to register all road cycling events like Sportives, which are organised cycling events.

Community groups have been awarded more than £380,000 in grants from the London Marathon Charitable Trust following the 2013 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey events.
