Organ recital will be given by Carl Bahoshy to raise funds in aid of Cafod’s Philippines Typhoon Appeal.

Bahoshy initially trained as a classical pianist before taking up the organ and has given performances as both organist and pianist.

The programme includes works by Bach, Schubert, Messiaen, Vierne, Widor and Boëllmann and the audience can enjoy refreshments after the recital.

The 80-minute concert follows a recital at St Elizabeth’s Church in Richmond, which raised £2,075 for the Syrian crisis appeal.

The 29-year-old organist says: “The more people who attend the recital the better. It will be me playing some beautiful classical organ pieces, some from memory.”

Bahoshy chose to raise funds for the Philippines Typhoon Appeal as he says that’s where help is desperately needed.

He says: “I am a bit sensitive to other people’s pain.

“You read it on the paper or see it on the news and watch how it affects people.

“I thought it would make me feel good about what I’m doing and I thought it would appeal to people as well.”
