A multi-award winning Oxshott hair salon has given all the money taken in its nail room to a children’s hospice.

The Clay Hair Salon has a long history with the Shooting Star Chase, taking part in multiple fundraising activities through the years.

But this Christmas, staff went one better and gave all earnings from their recently opened nail room to the charity.

Salon Founder James Davis said it was important for him that his business gives back to the community.

He said: “It’s crucial for us to give back to the community as a thank you for allowing us to grow and achieve.

“This year has been triumphant for us – receiving three finalist places at the British Hairdressing Business awards, winning best local salon and creating hair at prestigious events internationally.”

The money raised by the salon will go towards caring for the 600 life-limited children and teenagers supported by the hospice.

A hospice spokesman said: “This donation gives security to important parts of our work, from buying specialist feeding equipment to helping to pay for one of our Hospice at Home nurses.

“We rely on donations to continue to provide our vital service free of charge to families.”
