The Richmond Environment Trust raised a record-breaking £15,000 this year through an art auction.

The total raised, which will support the work of the trust, surpassed any amount previously raised at its art auctions.

Chairman John Anderson said: “We owe a great deal of thanks to the continued generosity of local artists as well as those more established artists who donated their work for the benefit of the trust.

“The proceeds will help support our wide-ranging work in environmental education and volunteering, as well as practical conservation projects.”

Sir David Attenborough, a patron of the trust, has agreed to host another family event in the new year, following the success of his butterfly talk in the summer.
