A school in Richmond has given its acting headteacher a permanent role in the school’s leadership.

Helen Dixon, who joined Christ’s School in 2006 as deputy and had been acting head since April this year, was delighted to be appointed.

She said: “I relish the opportunity to establish Christ’s School as the school of choice for Richmond students.

“I believe that every individual is unique and precious and will ensure that every member of our school community is given the opportunity to develop spiritually and emotionally, as well as being challenged academically.”

The school expanded to five form entry this year and will see its sixth form open in September next year.

Martin Brecknell, chairman of the school’s governing body, said the appointment of the new head was first class.

He said: “Christ’s School has a truly professional first class head teacher in the appointment of Helen Dixon who we are confident shall continue to develop the school from strength to strength.”
