Gangsters and molls hit Twickenham riverside
More than 100 wannabe gangsters and their molls turned out to the screening of Bugsy Malone at Diamond Jubilee Gardens last weekend.
Families came armed with deck chairs, blankets and umbrellas and more than half dressed as characters from the classic 70s film.
Councillor Pamela Fleming, Richmond Council cabinet member for communities, business and culture, said: “The Diamond Jubilee Gardens are truly ‘the people’s’ riverside.
After 30 years of laying derelict, the gardens have really come alive this summer – with music concerts, band stand programme, petting zoo, there has been something for everyone.”
The event was held in partnership with the RFU, The Twickenham Riverside Trust and Nomad Cinema.
