Surrey County Council’s cabinet member for children and learning congratulates students following the release of A-level results last week.

Councillor Linda Kemeny said: “Surrey has some of the best state schools in the country and yet again students have pulled out all the stops to secure top marks. Many congratulations to all those students who got the grades they wanted and deserved through their hard work and the excellence of the staff who teach them.

“I wish them the very best for the future and I have no doubt that the dedication of our head teachers will make sure our students continue to get the very best education possible so results keep on getting better.

“With a surging birth rate meaning rising demand for places at our excellent schools, we’re continuing with the biggest expansion programme in Surrey’s history to create the 16,000 places needed across the board and ensure every child gets the best start in life.”
