UPDATE: Road re-opened after elderly lady hit by car in Twickenham
Copthall Gardens has re-opened after police closed the road after an elderly lady was hit by a car in Twickenham this morning.
The lady, believed to be in her 80s, was taken to hospital with head injuries after she was knocked down at about 9.25am in Copthall Gardens, Twickenham.
Police have re-opened the road to traffic after carrying out extensive investigations this morning.
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at just before 9.25am to reports of a road traffic collision.
“We sent a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew to the scene.
“A medical team from London’s Air Ambulance in a car also attended.
“Staff treated one patient, a woman reported to be in her 80s, for a head injury.
“She was taken to St Mary’s Hospital and was escorted by the air ambulance doctor.”
Police say there have been no arrests.
A police spokesman said: "Police were called to Copthall Gardens, Twickenham to a road traffic collision between a car and a pedestrian at approximately 09.30am on Friday, August 16.
"A woman believed aged in her 80s was taken to a west London hospital with potentially life threatening injuries."
