Richmond College's overall pass rate was 96% with 64% of students gaining A*-C grades.
Principal, David Ansell, said he is pleased with today's results.
He said: “With 2,143 entries across some 50 subjects these results represent achievement on a grand scale.
"We expect once again that around 1,000 students will be going on to university, one of the biggest cohorts from any single institution in the country, including to Cambridge, other Russell group universities and various medical schools.”

The first students at Twickenham Academy picked up their AS level results today.
Principal, Nick Jones, said: “I am delighted with the recent AS level results as they mark the culmination of incredible hard work by students and staff in the first year of our sixth form.
"This not only provides a post-16 choice that was not previously available in the borough but has enabled other students lower down the school, to reach their potential."
St Catherine's headmistress, Sister Paula Thomas, said: "I am delighted with these results as they truly reflect the hard work of the girls and their teachers.
"It shows the value of continuity in a school as well as our small class sizes. Our value added scores remain well above national averages."

Lots of problems being reported of students struggling to access their Richmond College email accounts to get their A-level results this morning.

Hampton School headmaster, Kevin Knibbs, who has recently taken over from Barry Martin, expressed his delight at the results achieved by a multi-talented year group.
He said: “Many congratulations to all the boys and staff who have worked so hard to achieve these excellent results.
"It is wonderful that the overwhelming majority have met their demanding elite university entrance requirements at a very competitive time.
"Hampton boys are well known for their academic prowess but it is hugely gratifying that they achieve such exceptional results while enjoying to the full the sporting, cultural and community activities that the school offers.
"Despite all the pressures that A Levels bring, our boys have remained calm, balanced and focused and they deserve the highest praise.
"I know they will join me in thanking their superb and dedicated teachers who have helped them achieve such fantastic results today.”

Although results days are usually a time for celebration, some students may feel they have not done as they had hoped.
If you did not achieve the results you needed to get into your chosen university, fear not- there will be plenty of university places on a variety of courses available through the Ucas clearing system.

About 30 boys from Hampton school will be going to Oxford or Cambridge after today's results.
Students at the school are among 300,000 pupils finding out their results today.
Hampton School rugby captain, Alexander Lundberg is out of the country at the moment but has had a cracking week- he scored the winning try for England against Wales and has just heard that he got 3 A*s and secured his place at his chosen university. Well done!
Lady Eleanor Holles School head girl, Imogen Green, secured a place at Christ Church College, Oxford to study History, having achieved four A* grades.
She said: “It is an exciting morning for us all and I am delighted to achieve my place and to witness the success amongst my year group.”
The first of the results have come in to us from Lady Eleanor Holles School, who said their combined A* and A grades are at an impressive 82%, up from last year's 81%.

The first students at Twickenham Academy sixth form will be getting their AS exam results today too.
From September a host of new sixth forms will open across the borough and by September 2014 pupils will be able to take A-levels at Christ's, Grey Court, Orleans Park, Teddington, Waldegrave, Hampton Academy, Richmond Park Academy and Twickenham Academy.

Head of sixth form at Lady Eleanor Holles, Mark Tompsett, said: "Everyone has done extremely well, we are delighted with the results. The girls have surpassed themselves and achieved a really high standard."
Reporter Amy Dyduch has just met Marina Berkett and Katherine Pyne from Lady Eleanor Holles School in Hampton, who both got into their first choice universities.
Miss Berkett is off to the Royal Vet School and Miss Pyne will read Classics and English at Cambridge.
