Charity supporter opens new Twickenham Morrisons
A Breast Cancer Care supporter and artist opened the new Morrisons M local this week.
Elizabeth James opened the store on Monday, August 5, in Heath Road, after managers chose her as their local hero for the area.
Store Manager Stephen O’Dwyer came across Miss James after reading an article in the RTT about how she was using her art to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.
Mr O’Dwyer said: “We wanted someone local to help us officially launch our store to the community.
“After reading about Elizabeth and her latest greeting cards for Breast Cancer Care we were really keen to meet her and are delighted that she has agreed to cut the ribbon.”
Miss James said: “I was really surprised and honoured to be chosen to open the new Morrison’s Local, when the email came through from the new store manager Stephen O’Dwyer I was really surprised, it was very unexpected and something I had never ever anticipated happening.”
The store has created 20 new jobs and will open 6am to 11pm every day.
