A fight over a girl sparked a police chase through Twickenham this afternoon.
Police were seen chasing a male on foot in the Water Lane/Church Street area at about 5pm today.
A Twickenham police officer said: "It was a scuffle between a couple of males in their twenties over a girl."
Police issued a section five public order offence and said the large police presence followed after they received a number of calls.
A spokeswoman for London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed paramedics attended the scene.
An LAS spokeswoman said: "We were called just before 5pm to reports of an incident in Water Lane. We sent an ambulance crew to the scene and our staff treated a man reported to in his thirties, but we did not take him to hospital."
The incident kicked-off a flurry of Tweets from people who had witnessed the chase.
@brizinorth Tweeted: “Just seen a full scale police chase in Church Street, Twickenham. Speculating someone's been overcharged for a cup cake or doily.”
@sloan_anna tweeted: “Two guys run by, think they're just in a hurry until a policeman sprints after them shouting. Things you love about Twickenham.”
