Quins cheerleaders support Pink Ribbonwalk
9:00am Tuesday 19th March 2013 in News By Rachel Bishop
Harlequins cheerleaders shook their poms poms in support of Breast Cancer Care’s Pink Ribbonwalk that will come to Marble Hill Park this June.
The girls, who are part of the Soel Dance Academy in Surrey, donned Pink Ribbonwalk T-shirts in place of their usual kits, to help raise awareness of the walk on June 15.
Team captain Amber Avainco, 20, said “We were delighted to help promote such a lovely event for Breast Cancer Care.
“Many people know someone affected by this terrible disease and we hope we can encourage more people in the area to get active and walk 10 or 20 miles at the Pink Ribbonwalk.
“All the money raised helps to support people through Breast Cancer Care’s services to make sure no one faces breast cancer alone.”
It costs £30 to register to take part but walkers are required to raise a minimum of £175 worth of sponsorship to help fund Breast Cancer Care’s practical and emotional support services.
To register to take part, visit pinkribbonwalk.org.uk or call 0870 1450101.
