Man celebrates international women's day by donning a dress and bright yellow tights
4:51pm Friday 8th March 2013 in News By Amy Dyduch
A man from Hampton has embraced International Women’s Day in an unusual way – by spending the whole day dressed up as a woman.
Giles Dempsey, who is spending 25 days dressed in different outfits, has raised over £2,000 for Comic Relief so far.
On day 18 of his challenge, the 36-year-old decided to dress up as a woman, coinciding with today's International Women’s Day – a celebration of respect and appreciation towards women.
The dad-to-be said: "I’m feeling relatively comfortable in a dress. I keep on standing on it when I’m going up the stairs though and have to hoik it up to show my bright yellow tights."
Mr Dempsey is just £500 off his £2,500 target and said he appreciated the support he had from the public.
He said: "It has been pretty liberating. The girls at work took me out for lunch today. But I think I’m a bit more Widow Twankey than Rihanna."
