Good reception for Lord True's tea dance
12:00pm Sunday 3rd March 2013 in News By Clare Buchanan
Almost 100 over 50-year-old joined in at Lord True’s annual tea dance this week.
Led by the Ross Mitchell Combo Band, the event, held in the Clarendon Hall in Twickenham, was free to those who wanted to attend.
Leader of the council Lord True said: “I was glad to be able to put the funds saved by cutting my personal allowance towards this much enjoyed event for residents, especially those who have made such an important contribution to our borough.
“I am delighted that the event was enjoyed and will look into trying to include a tea dance element into other events being held for older residents.”
Dance attendee Kay Day said: “We would like to thank Lord True for this year’s tea dance, it is very generous of him to put on the event.
“We absolutely enjoyed it. We came last year and are looking forward to attending next year.”
