Nominate your mother of the year with Shooting Star Chase, Hampton

A children’s hospice wants nominations for the mother of the year this Mother’s Day.

Hampton’s Shooting Star Chase is looking for a mother whose work is going unnoticed for a luxury night of pampering.

The charity, which supports families of children not expected to reach their 19th birthday, is asking people to nominate mums, who may be friends, aunties or someone in the community.

Elaine Conisbee, interim director of care at Shooting Star Chase, said: “We know that when we speak to mums supported by our service, often they say what makes the support they receive so vital is the fact that it enables them to be just a mum rather than a carer - what they view as their most important job.

“Every mum is individual and special in their own way.”

The mother who receives the most votes will enjoy a night for two at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hotel in Guildford, including a three course dinner, bottle of wine, breakfast, use of the pool, sauna and steam room and a massage.

Nominate a mum by uploading a photo and short description of why they should win at facebook.com/chasehospice.
