Princess Alice Hospice manager cycling from Twickenham to Paris
The marketing manager for Princess Alice Hospice will be doing her bit to raise money for the charity, by cycling to Paris.
Elinor Guttridge will embark on the 229-mile cycling challenge to raise funds for the hospice that cared for her mother in the last few months of her life.
Ms Guttridge said: “The care and support that Princess Alice Hospice gave, not only my mum, but our whole family was amazing. We really couldn’t have coped without it.
“I want to raise as much money as I can through this challenge so that others can receive the same vital support when they need it most.”
Along with her partner Ian Gadd, Ms Guttridge will be among a group of supporters cycling from Twickenham to the Trocadero Gardens, opposite the Eiffel Tower, over three days in June.
The couple have pledged to raise more than £3,000 through the challenge, which will help the hospice towards their £8m a year funding goal.
Ms Guttridge said: “We’ll be cycling between 70 and 80 miles a day so it’s going to be tough but it will be nothing compared to the brave battle that my mum went through.
“We used to go on family bike rides around Virginia Waters and along the Thames when I was young, so it is nice to get back on my bike and do something in mum’s memory.”
The couple will complete their London to Paris cycle challenge from June 7 to 9.
