An exhibition celebrating the borough’s beauty will mark the opening of a new gallery.
Limited edition prints of scenes around Richmond, signed by artists and photographers, will be showcased for the first exhibition, called Richmond, Beautiful Places, in Gallery One’s second UK store.
The international group has 10 galleries in four countries and is owned by Richmond Hill residents Gregg and Jane Sedgwick.
Mr Sedgwick wanted an accessible gallery that was not intimidating and had more choice than the traditional format when he opened a single gallery outlet in Jumeirah, Dubai.
The idea took off and now the business employs more than 100 people and Mr Sedgwick splits his time between the Middle East and London.
He said: “The vision is to open 100 stores worldwide – we will open some ourselves and other outlets we aim to achieve through franchising and by inviting investors to join us.”
Richmond, Beautiful Places; Gallery One, George Street, Richmond; From February 9 to March 9; open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 7pm and Sunday 11am to 5pm.
