A childminding network has been launched in Richmond as part of the council’s plans to improve care for children.
Richmond Council hopes that by moving away from the current National Childminding Association, it can deliver a more flexible and localised childminding service.
Councillor Christine Percival, cabinet member for youth, said: “Juggling childcare with work commitments and other events that come up in life can be tricky, and it’s always good to know that if you do need to get a childminder there are recommendations you can trust.
“That’s why I am very happy that we are offering the residents of the borough extra peace of mind through the Richmond Childminding Network, allowing residents to know that the person looking after their child is well qualified, reliable and, above all, safe.”
The scheme launched on Thursday, January 17.
