Richmond firefighters called to turkey false alarm
5:09pm Thursday 3rd January 2013 in News By Amy Dyduch
Firefighters rushed to retrieve a turkey from an oven on Christmas Eve at a property in Richmond.
A disabled lady whose carer put the turkey in the oven worried it might burn so called the fire brigade, but fortunately the carer had taken it out when they arrived.
A spokesman for Richmond fire brigade said: “The lady was disabled. Her helper had put the turkey in the oven.”
The carer had left the property and planned to return in time to take the turkey out, but the woman was worried and called the fire brigade.
The spokesman said: “She was quite distressed. She was worried it might burn but by the time they got there the carer was there anyway.”
