Richmond Council collecting Christmas trees for recycling

Christmas trees to be collected for recycling next week
Christmas trees can be recycled from next week.
Richmond Council will collect trees along with normal rubbish between Monday, January 7, and Friday, January 18.
All decorations, pots and stands must be removed and trees more than three metres long must be cut into smaller pieces.
Due to high demand, not all trees may be collected first time round, so householders are being asked to put uncollected trees out on collection day the following week.
After January 18 trees will be collected but may not be recycled.
Alternatively, people can drop off trees at Townmead Road reuse and recycling centre, Wickes car park recycling site, in South Road, Twickenham, and Squires Garden Centre in Twickenham.
Last year the council collected about 20,000 trees for recycling.

We have a council telling the ill and disabled that there is no money to pay for their care - but can splash out on this frippery.
The obvious conclusion is there is far more leeway in what the can and cant afford.
