Burst water main shuts Hounslow road until June

A Hounslow road is likely to remain closed until June because of a burst water main.

Whitton Dene is currently shut because of the burst main.

As West Middlesex Hospital is served by that water main Thames Water have not been able to stop the water supply so repairs can be made.

But the water company has now arranged with the hospital for a fleet of tankers to service it on Saturday May 24.

Once the water is shut off on that day repairs can be carried out.

If main is successfully repaired work can begin on the road which has suffered severe damaged.

Repair work is expected to take between seven and ten days.

Hounslow Council says it expects the road to be reopened during the week beginning June 2.

Currently eastbound traffic is being diverted via Rugby Road, Whitton Road and Kneller Road. Westbound traffic is being diverted via Hounslow Road and Kneller Road.
