A man with dual British and Canadian citizenship has been embraced by Americans in Richmond.
Richmond, The American International University in London, in Queen's Road, has appointed Dr Ian Newbould as its fifth president.
Dr Newbould said: "I welcome the opportunity to work with a dedicated and distinguished faculty, staff and board of trustees, and with students and alumni from around the world."
He will start work at the Richmond campus on July 1.
