Sports masseuse Ainsley Moden has put her body through the rigorous three peaks challenge, all in the name of meningitis.

The sports massage therapist from Body Connection, in Chiswick has returned from a gruelling weekend trekking Britain's three tallest peaks Snowden, Scafell Pike, and Ben Nevis and raised nearly a £1,000 for the Meningitis Trust.

Ainsley joined 48 others on the weekend trek, which saw participants being put through their paces as they raced to finish the challenge within the 36-hour time limit. The trek took them through some of Britain's most dramatic and rugged landscapes.

Ainsley, said: "Meningitis is a devastating disease that can strike anyone at any age without warning. The signs are often difficult to spot because early on they can be like those of colds and flu. Knowing the symptoms not only saves lives but can also help prevent the savage after-effects that meningitis can cause.

"Taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge has been an incredible and motivational experience. I can't wait to get my teeth into the next challenge!"
