We are calling for readers to dig deep and sponsor three members of our editorial team in next year’s London Marathon to help us raise £15,000 for the charity Missing People.
Our sister paper the Richmond and Twickenham Times has launched an appeal to help the East Sheen-based charity – which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year – to raise the cash to support its work with familes across the country.
Every year the charity is represented by runners from all walks of life in the 26.2-mile event and this year news editor Dan Menhinnitt, Hounslow and Brentford Times reporter Paul Teed and Richmond reporter Ian Mason are hoping to raise some much-needed money for its hard-working team.
Paul said: “It’s going to be tough considering my current fitness, but we will put the training in and the sweat and tears will be worth it in the end.
“Missing People is a fantastic cause and I know we will be so proud to cross the finish line and raise money for such an important charity.”
Attempting to look pretty in pink, the three runners will embark on the marathon mission next April providing readers can help us raise a combined total of £15,000.
“It’s going to be tough considering my current fitness, but we will put the training in and the sweat and tears will be worth it in the end.

Dan added: “We’re going to need all the help we can get so whether it’s 50p or £50 every bit counts. Please visit our webpage and give a little to a charity that helps so many.”
