The inside story of one of Tyneside’s best-loved band will be played out in a newly devised show – The Lindisfarne Story.

Written and performed by the original members of the band, founder Ray Laidlaw and front man Billy Mitchell, the show includes acoustic performances of Lindisfarne’s classic songs.

Telling the story of how the band hustled for gigs and rose to fame to become one of the major British groups of the seventies, The Lindisfarne Story is acclaimed by fans and media as “fantastic” and the Newcastle Journal urges “Don’t miss it!”.

Illustrated with personal archive photographs, the show’s intimate setting of the Ashcroft theatre is an ideal location for the band to explain the stories behind their famed songs.

The Lindisfarne Story is at the Ashcroft Theatre, Fairfield Halls, Tuesday (October 13). Tickets cost £21 at www.fairfield.co.uk
