NOT an album to listen to while driving – you may fall asleep at the wheel.
Previous Hot Chip efforts have been guaranteed to get people out of their seats and onto the dancefloor, yet One Life Stand is more inclined to make you slump onto a comfy sofa and, at most, nod your head very, very slightly.
Album title One Life Stand is the standout track of the 10, yet I still prefer the shorter and sharper version that has been doing the rounds on radio of late.
That said this is by no means a bad album, just an unexpected change of pace and tempo with a massive ’80s feel.
Despite this, it’s still good enough to leave me looking forward to their O2 Academy Bournemouth gig at the end of the month.
