Laura van der Heijden, who shot to fame in 2012 as the 15 year old winner of the BBC Young Musician Competition, is coming to Banstead next month.
Performing a mix of modern and classical sonatas, van der Heijden will play at The Banstead Community Association Hall with her regular pianist partner Tom Poster.
The duo have been described by Nicholas Daniel of BBC Radio 3 as putting on "an extraordinary performance of incredible creative intensity" and as "a mesmerising performance" by Richard Morrison of The Times.
The programme for the night includes Beethoven’s Cello Sonata in C major, Op 102 No 1, and Schubert’s 'Arpeggione' Sonata in A minor, D 821.
These classical pieces contrast with works by 20th Century British composer Graham Fitkin and Frances Poulenc.
Tickets for the event are free for school pupils.
