Merton Abbey Mill's summer festival of music, comedy and theatre is in full swing with a fantastic line-up of acts to keep families entertained during the school holidays.

More attention has been given to the Colour House Theatre's performances this year, with August highlights to include an evening of jazz with retro band The Hotsie Totsies and a night of contemporary poetry hosted by Dodo Modern Poets.

KidsFest will take over from adult entertainment for the day on August Bank Holiday Monday, with hands-on workshops in art, crafts, pottery, cake-making, printing music, drama, dancing and Karaoke singing.

Soft play, bouncy castle and storytelling areas will all be open on the day, with archaeological digging, face-painting and caricaturing also on offer.

The Colour House Children's Theatre will run puppet and magic shows throughout the day, alongside visits from Dean City farm animals, the local Fire Brigade and football skills workshops run by AFC Wimbledon.

To add to the excitement the main stage on the bandstand will see great musical entertainment all day with performances by children and special guests, talent competitions, giveaways and a few surprises thrown in.
