Pick a winner in Ewell Court Residents' Association popular duck race
2:00pm Tuesday 19th March 2013 in Vibe By Hardeep Matharu
Ducks are now on sale for the Ewell Court Residents' Association's annual duck race on the Hogsmill river
Now is your chance to pick a winner in Epsom's second most popular sporting attraction after the Derby.
But rather than thoroughbred racehorses, the animals in the annual race organised by Ewell Court Residents’ Association are plastic ducks.
Last year 1,500 people turned up to cheer on their favourites, but there was so little water in the Hogsmill river that they had to be dragged along in a sandbag.
But, with the race just days away on March 30, months of snow and rain virtually guarantee perfect conditions for a really fast and exciting race.
The ducks go on sale on Friday at £2 each, with all the money raised going to Casey children's ward at Epsom Hospital.
Ducks will be on sale at Sainsbury’s, in Kiln Lane, Epsom, on March 22, from 10am to 2pm, and on March 16 and 23 at Ewell Court House, in Lakehurst Road, Ewell, from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
