Seasoned adventurer John Pilkington will take his audience on a photographic tour of the Balkan mountains in a return appearance at the Royston Pike lecture series.
The Royal Geographical Society award winner will also talk about his recent experiences exploring remote villages across Albania, Macedonia and Bulgaria. Known as one of Britain’s greatest tellers of travellers’ tales, Mr Pilkington has served as a BBC correspondent from central Asia to Timbuktu.
Councillor Mary Sheldon, portfolio holder for leisure and culture, said: "It gives us great pleasure to welcome John Pilkington back. John is a hugely talented speaker and has the amazing ability to enthuse audiences of all ages."
The lecture takes place at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, Walton, at 7.30pm on February 2 and tickets cost £3.
