A singer who got his big break on TV talent show the X Factor now wants to help out another aspiring musician.

Marcus Collins is on the hunt for someone to join him on stage during his forthcoming show at the Epsom Playhouse.

Since coming second in the X Factor in 2011, Collins has had a Top 10 single and album and has starred in Hairspray the musical.

Collins tells VIBE: "I feel so lucky on X Factor, that I got my chance. This is a great platform for somebody to come forward, to live their dream and perform on stage. I want to help someone else out."

One of his musical career highlights has been performing alongside his mentor Take That’s Gary Barlow in front of royalty at the Royal Albert Hall.

In September, Collins will take to the stage at the playhouse alongside his seven-piece band to perform Motown classics and new material from his second album.

He wants people to come along and enjoys themselves and says: "This is a night to have a little sing and a dance."

His debut single, Seven Nation Army, a cover of the White Stripes hit, and his self-titled album, Marcus Collins, both reached the Top 10.

He also played the role of talented teenage dancer Seaweed Stubbs in the UK tour of Hairspray the musical.

If you have enough material for a short set and want to join Collins on stage, send your contact details and a clip of yourself performing to marcuscollinsfanmail@gmail.com.

The deadline is Friday August 22. Any type of singer or musician is eligible to enter and will be chosen to complement his style.
