Start those 2014 diets in earnest with a new Weight Watchers programme, writes Andy Bloss.
In January Croydon’s Mayor Yvette Hopley and Weight Watcher leaders will be joining forces to encourage residents to develop healthier eating habits.
At a special event, people can get their BMI checked, talk to a weight loss expert and find out about their nearest Weight Watchers meeting.
The event also marks the launch of a new type of Weight Watchers where residents can drop in at a range of different meetings during the week to suit their schedule.
Karen Elliott-Brown, one of the leaders, says: “This is a new system we have introduced as we want to cater for those with busy lives.
“I have worked on one in another borough and it has proved popular as it gives people flexibility.
“We are seeing some fantastic weight losses and some great stories so hopefully that continues into the next year.”
