The Oscars 2016

I’m sure by now most of you know who the winners and losers are from this year’s 2016 Oscar ceremony.

The Oscars are probably the most prestigious awards bestowed upon Hollywoods finest creative talents. And although we may sometimes dismiss them as trivial and shallow, there is a part of us that can’t resist making our own choices of who we think deserves the 8.5lb, 13.5” tall britannium statuette.

Well this year's Oscar winners were a little bit mixed. Any one of the Best Picture nominations could have won (Although Spotlight was also my choice).

Leonardo deserved his Oscar for best actor and I urge you to see The Revenant but make sure you don't drink too much coke during the film as it's quite long and you don't want to miss anything while making a trip to the loo.

I was sure the Grizzly scene from The Revenant would win best special effects. Check out FOF review with a link to 'How they made the bear attack'.

Inside Out was pretty much a given for the best animated feature and let's also not forget Mad Max: Fury Road won an incredible 6 Oscars. which for an action, adventure, fantasy sci-fi movie was a big achievement.

All in all some great movies were represented this year. So go see some great escapism at your local cinema.

Enjoy!
