London Mozart Players new season is set to include two world premieres, a host of internationally acclaimed performers and the Fairfield Halls 50th birthday celebration.

Highlights for the Fairfield Halls-based ensemble include the season opener on October 4 of composer Roxanna Panufnik’s Charles Dickens inspired piece, a world premiere.

This is followed by the 50th anniversary of the Croydon venue. Under conductor Hilary Davan Wetton, the group will celebrate performing 50 years to the day since Yehudi Menuhin performed the opening concert at Fairfield Halls.

Surrey-born violinist Chloë Hanslip leads the celebrations, plus music by Croydon’s Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Malcolm Arnold, Walton and Parry, and a new fanfare by Roxanna Panufnik.

The return of the hugely popular Family-Friendly Christmas concert – film and live soundtrack of Raymond Briggs’ The Snowman, is due on December 15, and music director Gérard Korsten presents a feast of music for the new year.
