CCTV cameras will be installed in the A4 underpasses at Chiswick Lane thanks to funding from Fuller's Brewery and hard work by Chiswick police.
Cameras will be fitted in the subways that run beneath the A4 at the busy roundabout in a bid to prevent crime in the underground paths after dark.
It is hoped the joint initiative between the brewers and police would become the first of many safety projects supported by businesses in the community.
Inspector Dave Osborne, who approached Fuller's to get the funding for the initiative, said: "We get very few offences in any of the subways in Chiswick, but I appreciate that they are unwelcoming places, especially after dark. This installation will address the fear of crime that exists around subways."
Richard Fuller of Fuller's Brewery said: "We take the safety of our employees and local people very seriously and agreed to fund the installation of a CCTV camera in the underpass by the brewery."
Inspector Osborne welcomed support from other businesses to get CCTV installed in the A4's other subways.
